Manchester United Away Kit – 2009/2010 Season
Manchester United’s new away kit for the 2009/2010 season, echoes the design of the home shirt with a bold blue chevron across the front of the shirt.
Available to pre-order here today, the new Man Utd away shirt celebrates 100 years at Old Trafford and commemorates the teams first FA Cup victory in 1909 over Bristol City.
The black shorts have a blue stripe along the side, a red devil graphic on the back of the waist band, while the draw cords feature ‘MUFC’ on the tips. The black socks have a blue chevron on the calf.
The players wore the new kit in action for the first time last month, when United faced Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup final.
Speaking on the official club site United defender Patrice Evra said, “It’s a privilege to play for this club and whenever you put the kit on you know you need to give your best and show respect for the shirt.
“History is very important at United and it’s a great idea to base the current kit on that. I just hope we can be successful in it.”
Ji-sung Park agrees, adding: “I particularly like the away kit – the black and blue colours are quite army-like. Hopefully we can be like soldiers on the pitch and win every game.”
Made by Nike, the United away shirt uses Nike’s DriFit technology as well as an engineered mesh to help ventilation. It goes to show how technology has moved on, as the only ventilation the players had 100 years ago were the arm holes!
Officially launched on August 13th, the new Manchester United Away Shirt is available to pre-order online today or can be bought in the clubshop at Old Trafford.
